Thanks mate. But it was this one:

http://web.archive.org/web/20060103034509/http://boards.scug.net/

Obviously the data is missing in the internet archive.

Hey Melville,
I did a bit of quick searching and the only thing I could find on the web was this link:
http://www.wbr.com/soulcough/discus/messages/board-topics.html
It looks like board posts circa 2000-2001, but it has that familiar green background of the old site so it may have your post if you had made it that long ago. Good luck

Hi everyone. It's been a while.

Way back I posted something on the old boards: There was a documentary on German TV* about New York City that made use of a Soul Coughing song. I was pretty sure that it's name was "Leaving New York", until I re-googled it today and had to realize there were no hits.

Two assumptions: 1) I forgot the correct name of the documentary. 2) The internets forgot about the film, which wasn't that well-known anyway.

If there were an archive of the old scug boards, I could look up the correct title. Is there? DJ Fac, do you remmber?

Regards and thanks in advance,
melv

* 3sat, I guess.

In regards to the original post, the 18 skittish "roughs" can be downloaded from the wonderful unheard music blog at: http://unheard78.blogspot.com/2010/06/mike-doughty-skittish-roughs.html

That site has some other SC/Mike Doughty gems if you dig around a bit.

I also have a copy of the HM demos that I'll happily share if you don't mind Mike. The biggest difference is "Still Drinking in my Dreams" is included while "His Truth is Marching On" isn't. I saw on twitter that you wanted to keep Still Drinking for a future project so I wanted to double check before posting it.

Well, I made lots of demoes (demos?). Is it all-acoustic? Drums/drum machine? Sounds like they were recorded live? Maybe sounds like the H. Melodic versions, minus a bunch of parts?

Now, let me emphasize--just curious. I don't have a problem with these recordings being out there, making the rounds.

also, I was reading through some forum (trying to find the skittish sessions), and came across someone who said they had a "bootleg" version of Haughty Melodic, which included songs off the album in very rough "un-produced" forms. Anyone know if this guy was bluffing?

I stumbled on a YouTube clip of SC performing Circles on The Late Show and felt like it was 1998 all over again. I can't believe how long ago that was. I saw SC play two shows at the Fillmore (in SF), one in 11/96 and the other in 8/97 and loved them both (though I'd give the edge to the '96 show.) Did anyone here happen to catch one of those shows? And does anyone know if they were recorded and if they're available somewhere?

He's playing in London very soon and I'm thinking of going...now for the obvious question...does he drop any Soul Coughing songs into his set usually?

dododummy on "Amsterdam/Berlin Live CD issue?"

I recently bought the Amsterdam/Berlin Kufala Live CD from iTunes, and there are some issues with 3 of the final 5 songs on that CD. The second, The Incumbent, is an actual studio version of the early form of the track that was on El Oso, which I don't mind. The next song, I Miss The Girl, is everything except for the singing from the studio version of the song. The next song is Lemon Lime, another studio version. I am slightly bummed, and I'm wondering if anyone else has this same issue.

P.S., if you want the studio version of the early form of the Incumbent, I can put it up...

Strange mix...I like it though. I've managed to track down a copy of the Japan "Irresistible Bliss" 2CD issue - I've never seen one for sale before.
